Northshore Education Association

  • Mandatory ESP Training

Please remember that all currently employed ESPs who directly support the instruction of K-12 students are required to take 14 hours of District provided training in the Fundamental Course of Study (FCS) this school year. If you directly support the instruction of K-12 students and do not attend the required 14 hours of training before the 2020-21 school year, Northshore will be legally prohibited from continuing to employ you in your current role. This requirement applies to all paraeducators in general ed, special ed, EAP, Dual Language, LAP/Title I, Networks, ATP, and Pathways. It also includes school assistants and school technology specialists (STSs). The only exempt paraeducators are those employed in preschool programs and those who do not wish to continue employment next year, but all ESPs are welcomed and encouraged to join the training.

The first 7 hour Fundamental Course of Study training took place on January 27 and the next 7 hours of the training are currently scheduled for June 23. If you have not already done so, you will need to create an account in Performance Matters before you can register. If you need assistance creating an account contact your supervisor or your building’s STS.
