NSEA: Northshore Education Association

1. Meetings with the Superintendent

Your NSEA President meets regularly with the Superintendent to discuss member needs and the big issues facing the district, its employees, and students. This forum has addressed such important topics as the January 14th Day of Action.

2. Labor/Management Council

A joint committee of NSEA and the district, the new Labor/ Management Council was designed to solve problems, improve communication, and to discuss mutual needs. This has been a productive place to consider workload issues vital to NSEA members and to help NSD and NSEA tackle challenges together to achieve meaningful results.

3. The Grievance Process

As described in your contract, the grievance process empowers members to address concerns by initiating a sequence of conversations with administration in order to reach mutually acceptable, enforceable solutions. NSEA has used the grievance process effectively this year to focus on important member issues, such as planning time, technology, substitutes, contract day, and curricula.
